Another big update will be the New Balance 769. The 760 series has continually been recognized by publications such as Runners’ World Magazine as an award winning shoe. The biggest update to this shoe will be the new PL-1 Last (shape) which will be designed for the “faster runner”. It is also going to be a lighter than the previous versions, but with out degrading the support and cushioning systems. The New Balance 769 is a perfect shoe for the runner who has a light to moderate over pronation (rolls in) because it provides excellent inner foot and arch support as well as the premiun cushioning Abzorb from New Balance.

From Runners World:
Quote:
This update features an improved fit, thanks to a new last with a more sculpted forefoot. Nearly all of our testers liked how the shoe wrapped their feet, as well as its relatively light weight. This is due to a thicker piece of durable foam in the heel, which improves the impact protection. Our lab tests found the 769 to be the stiffest shoe in this category, which is why we recommend it for Clydesdales and Athenas with low to normal arches looking for a stable shoe.

If you have bunions, don't let the wide platform mislead you into thinking that this is the shoe for you. First, while the platform's wide, the depth in the toebox and midfoot is very shallow. Second, the N-lock lacing straps have have no elasticity or stretch, and thus will painfully impinge if the shoe is at all too narrow or shallow. Finally, the extremely rigid heel cup can be irritating. T

The above design flaws are a huge disappointment, because it otherwise is a very good, supportive and fast shoe.
