The Complete Heras continues Puma's tradition of performance shoes. The biggest surprise--one that makes it worthy of our gold medal--is that this low-profile, lightweight racer/trainer has the kind of substantial forefoot cushioning that allows it to hold up to daily training for efficient runners. Weartester comments were enthusiastic: "Snug, comfortable fit. Great cushioning--no 'dead legs' after speedwork."The Heras provides plenty of shoe for speedwork, tempo runs and racing.

Default Puma Complete Heras

From Running Times Magazine:
Quote:
The Heras is a trainer/racer whose midsole is composed of three separate foams: a light, durable foam in most of the heel; a light, soft foam in the forefoot; and a heavier, denser foam under the arch. Not unexpectedly, there is little arch support in this low-profile design. The denser foam, along with a plastic midfoot shank, provides control against only the slightest overpronation. The upper was tight in both the midfoot and the toebox. Wear-testers consistently noted the shoe’s weak link was the too-narrow fit around the big toe joint and its strong point was its light weight.

Pronation Factor: Neutral Runners + Slight Overpronators

From Runners World:

We placed past versions of the Heras in the performance training category, but the III, while still lightweight, features a new plastic arch bridge that makes it significantly more stable than its predecessors, according to Shoe Lab tests. Other notable updates are a breathable mesh in the forefoot, and a tighter-weave mesh in the midfoot area, which connects the laces to the midsole for a snug, stable fit. Recommended as a lightweight trainer for normal-arch runners or as a racing shoe for bigger runners.
