Youll be happy to know the acclaimed Air Pegasus is back by popular demand. Known for its superior cushioning youll enjoy new enhancements like better fit and performance properties.
Features & Benefits:
New Shoe: Replaces NIK1018
Mesh upper with integrated synthetic overlays: Provides a supportive and dynamic-fit surrounding the foot while allowing for excellent breathability
Heel and forefoot Air-Sole unit: Increased shock absorption and a smoother transition
NM decoupled soft PU crash pad: For a smooth landing
PU rideliner: Provides extra cushioning with outstanding durability
BRS 1000 heel: Provides durable crash pad protection
sticky rubber forefoot: For increased traction
The Peagsus is fairly lightweight, but heel-to-toe airbags make it feel as if there is a lot between your foot and the pavement. Thanks to the forefoot airbag, the Pegasus does not flex well in the forefoot. Despite that fact, the airbags “bounce” keeps the shoe from feeling slow off the toe. The heel and midfoot fit quite snug. Some testers modified the lacing to relieve pressure points across the top of the foot. The included insoles provide a nice bit of support — an unusual addition, since most insoles are designed only to provide a soft feel. (This Peg 25 is also available in a water-resistant and waterproof version this fall.)
The 25th anniversary edition of the Pegasus is a welcome return to the ride that longtime fans know and love. The full-length Air unit is back in the midsole. What's more, this version is nearly an ounce lighter because Nike was able to cut down on extra material. The new Pegasus is stiff, however. RW Shoe Lab tests show it to be one of the most rigid shoes in this guide, most likely due to the full-length Air unit and the retro waffle outsole pattern. Recommended for bigger runners with normal to high arches looking for a softer shoe with a good ride.

Unlike the men's version (left), the women's Pegasus is softer underfoot (thanks in part to a spongier sockliner) and more pliable, due to an extra flex groove. Nike built the shoe around a new last with less volume through the arch and forefoot. The result is a slightly snugger fit. Also, the outside of the heel that first makes contact with the ground is more rounded, giving women a smoother ride. Recommended for women with normal to high arches looking for a lightweight shoe with a superb fit
Here is a review from the Official Nike Blog on the WOMEN’S PEGASUS+ 25:

Trialer: I am female who runs about 10-15 miles per week, mainly on a mix of roads and trails.
What three features are most important for you in a running shoe?
1) snug fit
2) adequate cushioning
3) Nike+ ready
What were your initial thoughts after trying it on?
The forefoot felt a little too tight. It seemed as if my toes were being squeezed and squished. The length offered the perfect amount of snugness…not too tight. The heel fit was great as well. Overall, I think the fit is pretty good. The only complaint I have is that the forefoot fit is tighter than I would like.
What did you think of the fit and feel after your first run? After several runs?
The first time I tried out the shoes, I ran 5 miles easily, without any pain of breaking in new shoes. The shoes had the perfect amount of cushioning, enough to keep my feet feeling comfortable after almost an hour of running. I prefer a tighter fit, and the shoes were very snug. However, the only downside was that the forefoot fit was a little tighter than I would have liked. But after running and walking several miles in the shoes, I liked the fit, the cushioning and appreciated how breathable they were.
Is the cushioning adequate? In the right places?
Yes, the cushioning was the perfect amount, not overly cushioned, but enough to keep my feet feeling good after running over 10 miles.
What about stability?
I thought the stability was good, providing the right amount of support for my foot.
What is your favorite feature of the shoe?
I had a couple of favorite features. Overall, I thought the fit was great with just the right amount of snugness. The shoes were also very lightweight, which made it easier to keep going during my long runs.
Is there something you would change about it?
I would like it if the forefoot fit was a little bit looser.
How does it compare to the shoe you normally run in?
I actually ended up liking this shoe better than the one I have been running in lately. I felt like it offered the right amount of support with excellent cushioning and I appreciated the snug fit.
Would you recommend this shoe to a fellow runner or friend?
Yes, I can see why it’s such a popular shoe among runners!
