Despite a slightly non-average fit (slightly snug in the midfoot, slightly high-arched and slightly curved), the Adrenaline fits a lot of feet. Why? Comfortable snugness in the midfoot, reassuring support underfoot, and smooth toe-offs are features that most people can both live with and come to appreciate. And if one width doesn’t fit you, there are three other options that may. The switch to a new midsole foam lightens the shoe and improves durability. The well-tuned transition was not affected.
The midsole and outsole of the latest GTS are more segmented under the heel, which helps better isolate and disperse impact. RW Shoe Lab tests confirmed that this feature has improved the shoe's cushioning. Brooks has also brought back the rounded heel outsole design that many runners liked in the GTS 6, so the heel rolls onto the ground more smoothly. Recommended for runners with low to normal arches seeking a soft, durable trainer.
Rejoice! Runner's World gave the new Adrenaline™ GTS 8 the "Best Buy" award for Stability shoes in its Spring Shoe Guide 2008.
Many a runner relies on this trusted road warrior. The shoe is loved for its tried-and-true fit and feel, sought after for its signature smoothness from heel to toe, and depended upon for the graceful, graduated support of its PDRB®. The Adrenaline™ GTS 8 maintains all of the above while enhancing the ride with the long-lasting cushioning and resiliency of MoGo
For nine years, the hallmark of the GTS has been a consistent fit and feel that delivers good stability in a not-too-heavy package. Brooks tinkered with the shoe in this update by adding more foam in the heel to improve impact protection, and by rounding the back of the outsole to catch the foot earlier in the gait cycle so it lays down more evenly. This comes with a price increase of $10. Recommended for normal- to low-arched runners looking for a soft stability shoe with a great ride.
