A very nice, basic neutral shoe for lower-mileage neutral runners (due to the low-tech forefoot). For the first time, the Jazz is, well … Jazzy. It looks like its more expensive brethren, even though it is decidedly a low-tech shoe, except for the ProGrid cushioning system.
The Jazz has always been a great value. This latest update is softer in the heel--and an ounce lighter. The improved softness comes from a new midsole cushioning unit, which resembles tiny rows of empty foam cubes. These cubes compress during heel impact to disperse contact force without transferring it to the rest of the shoe. Recommended for lightweight runners who have high arches and are looking for a lightweight trainer at a very reasonable price.
