The complete Eutopia provides and extremely smooth ride, great forefoot flexibility and superior cushioning for runners seeking the ultimate in plushness and comfort. 10.9 ounces
Features & Benefits:
KMS-lite CM-EVA: Provides exceptional cushioning without the extra weight
IdCELL cushioning: Offers smooth heel impact and a well balanced and comfortable forefoot ride
TEXCARE-bamboo lining: Decreases foot odor
Internal lace wrap system: For a snug supportive fit
We Say: The new Calibus is one of the softer, more flexible shoes in this guide. It owes these qualities to its midsole foam and deep grooves in the durable outsole that help isolate and disperse impact shock in the heel while giving added flexibility to the forefoot. The sockliner has a plush covering. Our testers noted the comfort of the shoe, but some felt the cushioning didn't hold up. Recommended as a lightweight trainer for efficient, fashion-conscious runners.
Wear-Testers Say: "I liked the cushioning, but the toebox needs more room and breathability." --Shannon Roark, 28, San Diego
"A good balance of weight, flexibility, and cushioning."--Jim Carter, 60, East Lansing
A lightweight and very flexible minimalist trainer, the Calibus is geared for runners who are light on their feet or those with an efficient midfoot strike pattern. It’s the snuggest shoe in our test, with super-secure heel, glove-like midfoot and compact toe box. (Several testers felt the toe box was too shallow, especially on long runs when feet swell.) The detached crash pad and soft midsole foams provide an ultra-soft sensation at heelstrike, but most testers raved about the agility and responsiveness in the midfoot and forefoot, leading many nimble neutral testers to believe it would be an ideal marathon shoe. Runners with even a mild amount of pronation in their gait should stay away from this shoe.
