The latest Glycerin is softer. First, there is a larger cutaway section of outsole under the heel for the foot to sink into just after impact. Also, Brooks added softer foam to the midsole directly under the heel. The improved cushioning was confirmed by RW Shoe Lab tests. Another cool feature is the forefoot, which is curved slightly upward for a smoother toe-off. Recommended for runners with higher arches who want a soft, stable, neutral shoe.
Sure, this shoe has been known to elevate the running experience for neutral runners and mild overpronators. But the new Glycerin® 6—with two layers of MoGo stacked in the heel and e-fusion sandwiched in between—takes already incredible cushioning and resiliency to a whole new level. HydroFlow® in the heel and forefoot shoot the ride into the stratosphere
The Glycerin features dense cushioning that stands up to the heel impact of larger runners. With this update, Brooks sought to soften the impact a bit more by using more resilient outsole rubber and a redesigned lug pattern that compresses easily. Testers liked the cushioning on the whole, but some felt the forefoot was still firm. While the Glycerin is a neutral shoe, the flex grooves are filled in on the arch side to give it a touch of stability. Recommended for high- to normal-arched runners looking for a soft trainer.
